The publication forms volume 1 of the first series -- textes - of the Bibliothèque d'Histoire du Droit Normand, an enterprise of the first half of the 20^th century of the law department of the University of Caen. It brings together two collections of decisions of the Norman Exchequer 1276-94, showing the customary law set out in the Summa de Legibus in action. Perrot studied at l'École des Hautes Études before teaching the history of law at Montpellier, Strasbourg, and Paris. He produced several teaching manuals and editions of medieval texts.
