Semaine de Droit Normand 1956
Author(s): Scholars associated with the Département de Droit, Université de Caen
Title: Compte rendu de La Semaine de Droit Normand, 1956 Edition(s): Series, 1921 - . Provenance of this copy: St John Robilliard Collection
Remarks:
The Séminaire de Droit Normand was founded by Professors C.A.F. Astoul (1863-1929) and Robert Généstal (1872-1931) of the Université de Caen in 1908 and revived in 1921. The comptes rendu of the Séminaire's regularly held conferences, usually published in the Revue historique de droit français et étranger, or (more recently) the Annales de Normandie, describe academic contributions to the conferences in a few paragraphs, somewhat shorter than an article, but particularly valuable where no article resulted. Full proceedings (travaux) were published after the Semaines held in Jersey (1923) and in Guernsey (1927, 1938). This compte rendu reports, amongst others, papers given at Caen in 1956 by Lucien Musset on the Norman aristocracy; Marie-Josephe Le Cacheux on selected orders of the Norman Exchequer; and Bérnard Jacqueline on 17th-century parish life.
