Selosse, a French advocate, was killed in action near Reims in 1914. He first prepared this work as his thesis for the licence in law at the University of Paris. The book combines an historical sketch with a comprehensive view of the traditional administration of Sark, according to its officers and institutions, concluding with numerous appendices, including constitutional documents and acts of the Chief Pleas on a variety of matters including criminal and civil.
