Title: Le Grand Coustumier du pays et duche de Normendie tres utile et proffitable a tous practiciens
Remarks:
Usually surnamed d'Alençon, Guillaume le Rouillé was an advocate of that town, and a lieutenant-général in the province of Maine. This publication is an edition of the Summa de Legibus (1270x1302) and its French translation the Grand Coutumier de Normandie, with le Rouillé's comments; the Exposito, commonly called the Glose (early to mid-fifteenth century); the Nouveau Style (mid-fifteenth century), and the 'stille et ordre de proceder de la court de parlement de Normendie' of 1515, and more, added. The work's second edition includes new paragraphs headed 'secunda additio' which are le Rouillé's own comments. Le Rouillé also published a commentary on the coutume of Maine and other works.
