Remarks:

Pardessus was one of the most distinguished lawyers of his day, both in practice and in academic influence. His teaching about the Code de Commerce was particularly influential although contemporary concerns did not prevent him from publishing documents and anaylses of the old French and Salic laws. His Traité des servitudes remains of some authority in Bailiwick courts.
