Remarks:

Roussel de la Bérardière was the king's advocate at Caen and a member of the town's Academy. Appointed by the king a professor in law at the University in 1762, he taught French law with reference to that of Normandy. Montesquieu influenced him. The book covers, respectively, the laws of persons, things ('choses'), and the means of acquiring the same, frequently with reference to Roman law.
